Welcome to Stony Brook Homeschool Community

Stony Brook HC is a faith-based homeschool group where families come together each week to grow in learning, creativity, and connection. We provide a supportive environment for students to engage in educational lessons, explore their interests, and enjoy physical activity—while building lasting friendships.

Rooted in our desire to honor God, our community encourages curiosity, thoughtful discussion, and spiritual growth. Whether you’re new to homeschooling or looking to enrich your family’s journey, we invite you to be part of a Christ-centered community that learns and grows together.

About us

What does a group meeting look like?

We meet every Friday from 1:30–3:30 PM for a fun and engaging time of learning and community. Each week includes a mix of structured activities and free play, designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and exploration. Activities vary and may include arts and crafts, gym or outdoor games, STEM challenges like bridge building or LEGO races, science experiments, painting projects, and more. We also offer group learning sessions, board games, and time for kids and parents to connect and build friendships in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Are parents expected to stay?

For students under 14, parents are expected to stay with their child. For students 14 and over it is not expected that you stay, but we encourage parent involvement and presence. We love to chat with you too!

Is there a cost?

Yes there is a cost per family that covers the renting of our space as well as the supplies and other costs that arise with the group’s activities. Please contact us for more details.
